Last day of kindy

Our tiny little baby girl turned into a

Beautiful 5 year old

School is going great - even though its only day 2!

Time sure has flown by this past 5 years.

I stole it...but its beautiful

THE STARFISH POEM

Once upon a time there was a wise man

who used to go to the ocean

to do his writing.

He had a habit of walking

on the beach

before he began his work.

One day he was walking along

the shore.

As he looked down the beach,

he saw a human

figure moving like a dancer.

He smiled to himself to think

of someone who would

dance to the day.

So he began to walk faster

to catch up.

As he got closer, he saw

that it was a young man

and the young man wasn't dancing,

but instead he was reaching

down to the shore,

picking up something

and very gently throwing it

into the ocean.

As he got closer he called out,

"Good morning! What are you doing?"

The young man paused,

looked up and replied,

"Throwing starfish in the ocean."

"I guess I should have asked,

why are you throwing starfish in the ocean?"

"The sun is up and the tide is going out.

And if I don't throw them in they'll die."

"But, young man, don't you realize that

there are miles and miles of beach

and starfish all along it.

You can't possibly make a difference!"

The young man listened politely.

Then bent down, picked up another starfish

and threw it into the sea,

past the breaking waves and said-

"It made a difference for that one."

First day at school!

We made it to 5!

I will post some photos later of her party yesterday but here she is ready for school this morning. She was more than excited!!
She is in the same room as me so it was lovely to keep my eye on her for the morning. Can't wait to go back at 3 and pick her up!

Still Snow!!

We are on our fourth day of snow! Yes snow people!! Its crazy and beautiful and exciting all at once as we live where snow NEVER falls!!!!
I remember one other time in my 35 years of living here that it lightly sprinkled snow for a few short minutes but this is really snow!!

Can you believe it - SNOW!!!

It has been so cold here and they kept saying it would snow but I didn't believe them as we NEVER get snow.
Then last night about 8.30pm we could hear alot of noise outside and then the phone rung with Greg's mum yelling down the phone "its snowing!"
So we woke the kids up - bundled them up and went outside to play! It was so cold!
First time its snowed in Feilding in a decade!
More is due tonight!

Getting the all clear

We got a great result from the eye doctor last week. She was happy with how Amalie is using her eyes together and she has great vision - right on track for a 5 year old!!!
We are still going to have her tested for glasses so that we can make sure she is using her whole eye together.
I am so thankful!
