Tuesdays around the world

Last week it had been 5 years since we lost our dear Gran just a few weeks before her 80th Birthday. We miss her everyday. And dont worry Gran, I am knitting slippers for everyone just like you did for so many years and we still call them "Grans slippers"

(My cousin's Graduation)

There's magic in a Grandmother's touch,
And sunshine in her smile.
There's love in everything she does
To make our lives worthwhile.

(My wedding)

We can find both hope and courage
Just by looking in her eyes.
Her laughter is a source of joy,
Her words are warm and wise.

(four generations)

There is a kindness and compassion
To be found in her embrace,
And we see the light of heaven
Shining from a Grandmother's face.

Over photoshopped photos!

Now I know that I have been known to add a little too much texture or a little too much contrast to a landscape photo etc but my pet peeve at the moment is overphotoshopped (I dont think that is even a word)photos of children.
A friend had some photos done of her children and when she showed me I was speechless. Where were the freckles, are her eyes really that green and where are all the little creases on the baby?
Examples of my own work and I know I took it to the extreme but you get what I mean

Tuesdays around the world

I have been trying to think of my favourite photo I have ever taken. Not to do a post about "Wow look how awesome I am!" But more of a reflection of why I love that photo. It may not even be in focus, or people may not smiling But I wanted to take myself back to that day.
Of course I could have one so here a few...enjoy

Windmills

I did this group of photos for a facebook group I am. You had to do a set of photos that all tie in. I rather like this and think I might get it on a board or on canvas or something. What do you think?

Black and White Wednesday

I seriously have to get this 4 year old into ballet classes! She walks like this and leaps about saying "One day I will be a ballerina!"

And I know her shorts are filthy but I had just picked her up from kindy so dont hate!

Really starting to find my love for Black and white photos again - pop on over here and see some of the other beautiful black and whites.

Tuesdays around the world

Today I am washing under 9 rugby jerseys! It is so bitter sweet for me as Oliver loves playing rugby but the thought of standing on the sideline every Saturday in the rain and cold does not excite me one little bit!

I also read this today and found it very moving in light of the last few days.

"I mourn the loss of thousands of precious lives, but I will not rejoice in the death of one, not even an enemy. Returning hate for hate multiplies hate, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars. Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that."
- Martin Luther King, Jr.

Meh - to the dress

This lovely girl would look beautiful in anything but I am sorry - I thought the dress was boring!
Just saying. :)
