Dear SO and So....

Dear So and So...

Dear Amalie
You broke my heart when you cut your hair. I am so sorry that I yelled way louder than i should have at you. You are only 3. I am so sad you cut your hair (and so much of it) but it will grow and Mummy will get over it.
I love you
Mummy

TO "the computer man"
I feel sick that you entered my home. Three times. To know that you have stood in my lounge where my children play makes me ill to my stomach. I know in my head that I could never have foreseen what was to happen but my heart breaks.
You took a life from another human. She was a sister, daughter, aunty friend and although I never met her and dont care for what sort of relationship the two of you had - you still took alife. I only hope that the New Zealand justice system which can be very slack at times what serve you what you deserve.
Regards
Angela
(I cry as I write this. This man who used to fix my computer took the life of someone else. It has shocked our small community and I feel bad that I even can say that I have spoken to this low life)

Dear Oliver
Tackle tackle tackle. You are going so well with rugby but for goodness sake TACKLE!!!!
Love Mummy

Dear Board of Trustees
Thanks for making me secretary. I am excited to see what the next 3 years will bring.
I RESOLVE to MOVE and ADOPT this MOTION!!!!
Angela

Dear Followers of my blog
Thanks for reading my blog. I love it!
Angela

Dear LOST
Please be good tonight.
I need to know
  • where are the polar bears
  • what is Jakobs brothers name
  • why does Jack have a son
  • will Jack marry Kate and live happily ever after

Tuesdays around the world - cozy corners

Cozy corners...I have so many! This one is one of my favourite cozy corners. We were gifted this chair when we lived in Whitianga. It is so cozy and then add to it my favourite blanket and its the perfect spot for reading, sewing or watching TV - preferably LOST or Days of our lives (I know pretty bad but I used to watch it when Amalie was little and I got hooked) although TVNZ saw it in their power to cancel it. Just when the good people from Salaem had been saved from the island and then the tidal wave hit - wow major bad luck! Oh I know we are about 5 years behind USA!!!
Now the photo is black and white as MY chair is a really ugly green and my blanket is red so you can imagine the strain on your eyes!! It goes with nothing in our lounge but its awesome

This is the corner of Amalies room. She loves to come here and make "snacks" for everyone with the felt food I made her.
And this is the corner of our section. Our Orchard. It houses 7 fruit bearing trees and our beautiful cat Milly who passed away at only 11 months old :(

So where is your cozy corner? Curled up in front of the fire?? Warm spot in the sun??

Come over to http://communalglobal.blogspot.com/ and see where other peoples cozy corners are.

Why I started my blog!

While sifting through the 1 billion photographers that Google spat out at me I found a photographer that really touched my heart. So much so that I sat and read her whole blog in one go. Like a novel I couldn't move away and I was moved to email her. We had some things in common photography and adoption.
How random! I just sat there and emailed a complete stranger and told her I read her blog. She emailed back!!! "Hello wonderful photographer who took time out of her busy day to email me on the other side of the world" thanks!!! http://rogersadoptionstory.blogspot.com/

She asked if I had a blog. Ahhh no I dont but I'm gonna start one!! So I did. I had no idea what to write what to say what photo to put up.
I remember my first comment and I was so excited!! I still get excited when I see I have a new comment!!
I am not really sure what this blog has turned into...but I am enjoying it. I follow lots of great blogs and love to see and read about like-minded people and what they are up to! Stalker I know!!!

Can you see my little name logo??? I think its kind of cute! My name and a little Kiwi!! Sums me up really.

So click on over to http://ordinarymiraclesoflife.blogspot.com/2010/05/why-i-started-and-giveaway.html and have a read of why others started their blogs and perhaps link up too.

And one of Oliver

Oliver had a disco last week...Hip Hop. So this is what he thinks Hip Hop looks like!! This is up because he is driving me nuts at the moment. Just little things...forgot homework, cant find school jersey etc and I have to be more patient. he is only 7!!! But I thought he looked kind of cute in this...in a goofy kind of way.

After dancing

After dancing today we were driving towards town and I nearly took out a car as I saw this beautiful wall!! Why have I never seen it before - well I have but why have I never seen the opportunity before for a great place to take photos.

Amalie was not really very interested but she played along and we got a few great photos! Just gutted that one of them snuck in there unedited!!! Can you guess which one doesn't belong here *singing in my best Sesame Street voice*

"Tuesdays Around the World!"

Today I learned....

well I had an entire blog post worked out.... I couldn't live with out my 3 "c's"
  • Coffee
  • Coke
  • Chocolate
Each one has a time and place in my life...
  • coffee - well anytime but mainly 9am
  • coke - 3pm
  • chocolate after 7pm
but then other things came to light...

my cousin passed away in the weekend. I did not know him well so my grief is different but I feel for any parent having to bury their son, a wife burying her husband and small children burying their daddy. My heart breaks.

so then my pity party started. Yes because its all about me!
I started to think about this whole photography thing. I feel any stay at home mum who has a camera is trying to make it out there I don't think I have the drive to do it! I LOVE doing it but I don't have the skill to get out there at yell PICK ME!!!! i love taking the pics, even making my own logo!! but the selling of me is hard.

so what to do...I don't know.

So today I learned that I am not cut out to be in this photography world.

Why not take your eyes over to http://communalglobal.blogspot.com/ and check out what others are doing around the world today

I ♥ faces Flowers

Over at I ♥ faces their theme is Flowers (and faces of course!)

Here is Amalie and frangipani , finally, in Rarotonga. She was around 5 months and loved being in the blue warm water!! We had just adopted her and although New Zealand courts denied us the first time to go on holiday they agreed the second time and we were able to go away as a family!
I can't believe how bad her eye looks here. When she was 3-9 months was when it was at its worse!! I remember and older Rarotonga lady saying to me "We will get some Cook Island medicine on that eye!" Nothing was going to help it but I just smiled sweetly at her!!

Jump on over to see other flowers and faces!!!

Dear SO and So....

Dear So and So...

Not sure how I came across this but it suits me AWESOME to do this today.

Dear Month of May
Your cold and wet. I dont enjoy standing in the rain to watch rugby so if you could just hold of the rain until after the game I would really appreciate.
Angela

Dear Oliver
Honey, I did not need to know that your glow stick was still glowing at 6.30am this morning. If you come into my room and my eyes are closed that means I am asleep...tiptoe quietly out and come back at 7am!
Mummy

Dear Amalie
I know having a runny nose is horrible (remember Mummy was sick last weekend) but please try to keep blowing your nose so that I dont see snot all over your face.
Mummy

Dear Teachers at our school
To sneak out of the school disco just as it finished was plain rude. You left only a handful of parents to tidy up.
Angela

Dear Greg
Please tidy up after yourself.
Your loving wife

Dear Angela
If you want to look super hot in Rarotonga then get exercising!
Angela

Dear Gran
Why did I not ask you to teach me to crochet before you were gone.
I miss you
Angela

Just came in to add this one...

Dear God,
When my Dad gets to heaven can you make sure he gets a good neck!! He has suffered long enough with that broke-as neck that he needs a new one.
Angela
PS but please dont take him for ages because my life wouldnt be the same with out him

I'm a little bit crafty at times!!

I saw these on another blog and just had to give them ago!! So quick and easy. I think my father in law will be getting them for his birthday!! (Not these ones...some other ones that i will have to make)
Not sure how long they will last but at 20cents for the spoon from the Secondhand store it doesn't really matter does it!

They are devasted...I am devasted and I hardly know them

So Jay-Jay and Dom who host the morning madhouse radio show are very open people. I have "known" Dom since I was a teenager and have followed the two of them for years.
they recently came into infertility troubles and they have been kind enough and open enough to share their story through JayJays blog.
http://jjdom.wordpress.com/

I cried as I read it. JayJay is not pregnant. they were going through IVF and I have tried not to stalk them (!) but cant help to check daily for updates.
I was gutted. I felt like I was kicked in the guts and its not even me!! These poor people. They weren't on air yesterday or today.
JayJay and Dom...I am so sorry.... :(

What's your scent

Mine is Eternity.....

I love it!

I first wore it on our wedding day.

When ever I spray it, it reminds me of that day...even now...nearly 13 years later.

Sometimes I just take the lid of and smell for that mushy feeling I get!

ever wondered what kind of scent ladies from around the world use??? Pop on over to

http://communalglobal.blogspot.com/

and have a look at what others like to smell like!!

I ♥ faces Celebrating Mum

I heart faces are Celebrating Mums!!

The first time I laid eyes on our daughter. Perfect. After months of waiting, someone had chosen us to be her parents. We are forever thankful for our 2 birth mothers.
WE CELEBRATE THEM!!!

By far, these photos were all pretty terrible - blurry, bad patterned background - but there is just something about them that feels warm and mushy!

Maybe someday
she'll help millions of people
all over the world
or maybe she will travel
and send emails from Africa
or call me from Rome
Someday she'll be a strong,
confident woman
but I will always remember
the first time I held her
in my arms.....

"today" - we enjoyed the leaves

Leaves and plenty of them are surrounding us at the moment.
I love Autumn - all the amazing colours!!
We walked to the end of the road and laid down!! we got plenty of looks from people with Mummy either Bum up or hoovering over my poor children laying in crunchy cold leaves!!
Its a very chilly morning but going to be a beautiful day - blue skies as far as the eye can see.

I've done it again!! changed my layout

I wasn't happy with all the 100 others I tried. Too over the top - some would cut the photo in half etc so I am sticking with this one - hopefully!!

And a photo of Amalie. I swear she only likes to help do the baking so she can lick the egg beaters!!

I used to be able to enlarge my photos. Now when I do it the whole photo disappears. The HTML is there the the photo does not show up. Weird???? Any help would be appreciate as they are much better bigger.
