Sports day

Oliver had his sports day today and as per usual i was the photographer. My biggest problem was Missy Toe Rag doing a runner on me every 5 mins!! It wouldn't have been a problem apart from being right near the river!
Its hot here today and I miss my husband who is on school camp. One more sleep.
I have been busy making felt Easter eggs for a Easter egg hunt on Sunday - the kids love them! Will post a pic later.

I ♥ faces "Dramatic Black and White"

So this week at I ♥ Faces its "Dramatic black and white" and while I am not sure if this is dramatic - more like traumatic I thought it could be a good entry.
This is Amalie aged about 31/2 months. She started wearing patches from that age until about 6 months ago. She also wore glasses from 10 months to 2 years.

So Amalie under the bed asleep.


We had got home from town or Mum's or somewhere and we all jumped out of the car and Amalie was last out and she locked all the doors...with my only car key in the ignition.
I couldn't believe it. Greg was at work and I could feel the smoke coming out of my ears.
I sent her up to her room while I, thinking I was MacGyver , proceed unsuccessfully to get into the car.
I went up to check her and she was nowhere to be found. thinking she had gone off to play somewhere I quickly checked her wardrobe and then under the bed.
And there she was...asleep...with a tear stained face. I was heart broken - but still a little mad.

Thankfully Greg came home early and he managed to get into the car for me.

Whenever she gets out of the car now she says " I won't lock the door Mummy"

Well the look of it!!!

I love cupcakes and so to come across this template that I LOVE (have I said that already) WAHOO!!!!

So not much going on - just wanted to write on my new blog!!!

Oh my dear Nana turned 90 today ` yip 90 and she even told me she is not old. She goes "Now when I get to 94 you can call me old"!!!

My Aunty bought her a bird, an actual live bird called Winnie!! I had to laugh at that. Nana said its very noisy. At least she has great hearing and eye sight as she still drives.

Our sweet Milly

We lost our sweet Milly today. She had a horrific eye injury cause by goodness knows what on Sunday night.

They wanted to remove her eye.

We said no, and reluctantly chose the alternative.

We will miss her terribly.

So I came across a great blog

Can't wait to start again on Amalies hair. I had so lost interest! And after I swore to her that i would never ever cut her hair again (note to readers...don't think you can put your daughters hair in a pony tail and cut the last 2 inches off it! Believe me - it does not work!)
So I am off to get new hair ties and a comb with a pointy looking metal thing on the end!!

So i know I have a lot to learn...

• Timing - we had an hour roughly for photos and I felt like I was running, double handling things and a little out of sorts. I need a work flow...bride, bride and groom, bridal party etc

• Flash!! Oh yes I will buy a flash!

• Details and not being afraid to ask for them! I really wanted to photograph their rings but was to scared to ask them to take them off

Oh the list could go on and on. But that's the point isn't it?? Always learning and all that we do!

The wedding went well...

The biggest issue was people not really interested in having their photos taken - so I feel, for me some aspects weren't covered but I have more than enough photos!!
Hopefully they like them.

Welcome baby Cameron!!!

Our friends Trent and Jeanette adopted a baby boy last night! Yahoo! A baby brother for Jess

So exciting...its getting harder and longer to adopt in NZ. When we adopted the "stats" were 1 baby to every 3 couples now I think it would be at leat 1 baby to 15 couples - so sad.
