Melissa: Hi Angela - thanks for posting over on my blog! Looks like your camera exposed for the rocks behind the kiddos, which resulted in overexposing their little faces. You might need to try spot metering or flipping the camera to manual and essentially underexposing until you get the kids faces to not be white.
